Genesis 29:16-18

16 Now Laban had two daughters; the name of the older was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel. 17 Leah had weak eyes, but Rachel was lovely in form, and beautiful. 18 Jacob was in love with Rachel and said, "I'll work for you seven years in return for your younger daughter Rachel."

Leah had “weak" eyes.

Some women are born into this world with “weak" eyes, but thank God for makeup! I am one with “weak" eyes. I am a natural blonde with straight hair. Therefore, my eyelashes are light in color and they stick straight out from my eyelid instead of curling upward. This tendency causes eyes to naturally appear weak and dull. If you are also one who was born with straight, light eyelashes, do not despair. There are techniques you can use to create a whole new look and you too, can feel “lovely in form."

For the products available in this day and age, the very best are mentioned below.

There are various curling tools and techniques, but the best I have found is the Shu Uemuera eyelash curler. This curler is designed in a manner to produce curl without crimping or bending. With Shu Uemuera, your curl will last longer and look more natural. It is also gentle on your lashes, allowing you to prevent loosing lashes, a dire evil. Unfortunately, this eyelash curler costs around $18, but is well worth the price.

Lancome manufactures a wonderful mascara called Hypnose, but the price is around $22 per container. For a better price, Maybeline designs a mascara that is the best, bar none. It is called Great Lash. I recommend the “blackest black" color. Maybeline’s Great Lash has yet to clump or glob for me, and it allows the stroking of the brush to lift the eyelashes even more after curling. You can purchase this product for around $5.

Eyeliner will help in causing your eyes to appear larger and well-defined. Mary Kay makes an eyeliner that is advertised as smudge-proof. Their consultants will actually prove this to you by having you apply the eyeliner on your hand and attempting to rub it off. You will not be able to remove it without a makeup remover. This concept is excellent in helping your eyes to look just as great at 8am and 8pm without reapplication. Their eyeliners sell for about $9.

Don’t forget eye shadow to increase depth in your eyes. Most eye shadows on the market are safe to use for eye color. However, when you purchase the eye shadow, take the applicator that comes with the color and throw it in the trash. You must use a quality brush applicator in order to blend the colors well. Reminder: If it doesn’t look somewhat natural, it does not look good. So go easy on the color. You should use a medium-toned color on the lid, a darker-toned color in the crease, and a light color (almost white or cream) on the upper eye, just below the curve in your brow.
